WNYRHS 42nd Annual GREATER BUFFALO TRAIN AND TOY SHOW 2023

42nd Annual WNYRHS Greater Buffalo Train & Toy Show
Review November 18th & 19th, 2023

by Scott MP Hawbaker

On Saturday and Sunday November 18th and 19th, the Society held its 42nd Greater Buffalo Train and Toy Show. We are happy to report that the show was again a success and well attended considering we had a Buffalo Bills game on Sunday. This years show featured over 400 table filled with model trains, toy trains, lanterns, railroad hardware, signs, railroad ephemera, collectible cars, toys, dolls and much more. The Lego layouts and activities were very popular as well as the Thomas© and Friends play area provided by the Gowanda & Buffalo Model Railroad Club and will be back again in February on the 17th and 18th of 2024.

We had guest speakers from the Western New York Division of the National Model Railroad Association and quite a few new dealers. So many so, we had to accomidate some of them in the "back room" of the Events Center which they didn't mind. Niagara Orleans Model Railroad Engineers, Inc., from Lockport , New York, had both their HO Scale and N Scale layouts running multiple trains. Jerry Lepsch brought his unique "S" Scale layout and of course Flower City TT HiRailers had their fantastic "O" Gauge layout which always draws a crowd.

Putting on a show of this size takes the work of many Society volunteers who without their help there would be no show. Art Toale has been our dedicated show Chairman for several years and always makes it happen. Our sincere thanks to him and all our other members who set up tables, assisted vendors, manned entrances and so much more, Thank you!

If you were able to attend this years show, we thank you and hope you enjoyed yourselves. Plan ahead for another great show in February where many of your favorite dealers and layouts will be back again and that locomotive or lantern you had your eye on might still be available. Below are photos of just a few of the sites you stopped to view or what you missed taken by myself or Joe Kocsis Jr.
