Railroad Excursion Photos

Here are some of the photos from special railroad excursions that took place in various parts of Wisconsin. Enjoy!!

On July 4, 2000, the National Railroad Museum sponsored the "Firecracker Express", which ran from Green Bay, Wi. to Kaukauna, Wi. The train was powered by the Soo Line steam locomotive #1003. These photos were taken at Wrightstown, Wi. when the train was taken back to Green Bay with a WC SD45 pulling the train on the return trip with the #1003 trailing.

These photos were taken in February of 1999 during the annual Mad City model train show in Madison, Wi. A special train sponsored by the Wisconsin and Southern R.R. was giving rides to Madison to McFarland, Wi. using their E-9 units.

In May of 1999, the C&NW Historical Society sponsored a special passenger train from Hilbert to Manitowoc, Wi. This train used the Algoma Central's FP-9 units. These are still video captures taken at Potter, Wi. about 3 miles southeast of Hilbert.

In June of 1999, the U.S. Post Office sponsored the "Celebrate the Century Express." Here is one vidcap of the G.E. Genesis locomotive at Oshkosh, Wi.
