If I remember right, this was taken just west of Silver Lake.
A shot of Burlington from the rails.
That is GP30 #703 powering L5455 for the day. They are holding
the main so we will have to pass them on the siding.
One would think that we are somewhere out east with all the
CSX power running around! Anyway, this is T044 stopped at Midway. Again
we will have to go around on the siding... ahh, the joys of being a local.
CSX 399, CSX 6006, SP 7356 - T044 - Midway - 14:00
A closer shot of the 399.
I wasn't sure if that first shot of the Hwy 59 bridge would
turn out or not. So I took a second picture on our way back. The car right
under the bridge is a WC foreman who had to sit there all day and flag the
crossing.
Here we are at the west side of Waukesha. The train approaching
is T040. And surprise surprise... CSX power! The trailing loco is an ex-CR.
CSX 7675, CR 7477 - T040 - Waukesha - 15:45
In my opinion, this is the better of the three shots of 40.
After this shot was taken, it got too dark to take more pictures.
In Dupy we passed T047 with WC 6586 and WC 6556 in the siding at 15:58.
Once at Spur 105, L203 passed us at 16:41 with the WC 6641 for power. And
finally, as we approached Waukesha, we passed XY0981 on the PDC line with
the 2052. T177 was sitting at the west side of Waukesha with CN 5452 and
CN ???? We tied up at 17:15. 703 (L5455) came back into town at 15:23. One
last note, the WSOR called the dispatcher at 15:28 asking if they could
come into Waukesha. Unfortunately the answer was no, so they were held at
Portz until 17:34 when they finally got permission to proceed into Waukesha.
Their power was 4492, 6622, and 3501.
