Who is this guy?
So here I am about 7 years old in
C&NW #5516, then at my parents backyard (back left), and
finally on my wedding night. Born November 1977, I was
introduced to trains at an early age via my Grandpa and Dad.
Whatever it is about trains that usually grabs kids and sucks
them in for life, got me too. My Grandpa worked for the Milwaukee
Road in its hometown namesake and regularly took me to the yard
and surrounding areas to watch the action. My Dad also took me
trackside, but I have him to thank for introducing me to model
railroading. Starting out with track on plywood in our basement
behind the C&NW in Waukesha, WI, then at Grandma &
Grandpa's basement, and now involved with modular model
railroading.
Raised in Waukesha, WI, and grad from Waukesha South (Go Blackshirts!) I went on and graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater (Dec. 2000) with a Bachelor of Arts in Art. Then I trekked nearly 400 miles south and earned my Master of Fine Arts in ceramics from Southern Illinois University- Carbondale (Aug. 2004). Then I packed up and strolled 1000 miles where I now teach ceramics at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT.
My wife, daughter, baby on the way, and two cats settled in Hamden, a neighbor of New Haven where we purchased a house and are now trying to settle in to east coast life... trying!
