I've been compiling a potential roster for the WGR. This is a "wish list" for the railway. Since I just bought my first car today, I decided to put the list out here for all to see. Not all of these will be acquired, but they represent the types of equipment and rail lines that I would like to have.
I purchased my first locomotive. I guess it's not for the WGR outdoor layout but it's something to start with. I bought a closeout Aristocraft Rogers 2-4-2 starter set to put under the Christmas tree in our living room/ office this year. This gives me something to play with until something
can happen outside.I purchased a Christmas Sierra Observation car to add to the end of the Rogers starter train that will go under the Christmas tree.in the office. A standing Santa figure was also purchased to ride on the Observation car. I will add a picture of the train under the tree once it is set up.
A Corona Reefer car was purchased today through ebay. Now the WGR has a color appropriate car to deliver refreshing beverages to the rail workers. Once they are off duty of course.
A Lil' Critter starter set was purchased today to expand the roster of the WGR Christmas division. This will much to the enteraintment value of the Christmas division. I'm unsure where the set will run yet. A couple of options are being investigated. In addition, I'm planning on putting lights in the bobber caboose to dress up the insides. I've ordered some interior portions of the long steel caboose to use. I will put together a page documenting the work once it's done.
A slopeback tender was purchased today to expand the roster of the WGR Christmas division. This will also add much to the train under the Christmas tree providing some basic sound to enhance the enjoyment of the those watching the train.
Two 20' Christmas box cars and a 20' Christmas tank car have been purchased to expand the roster of the WGR Christmas division.

I've also decided on where to have the Lil' Critter set run. I will have it run on the overhead line in the office with the Rogers train under the tree. The Christmas hand car will be moved to the top of the entertainment center in the family room, and will be run as a back-and-forth line using an Aristocraft reversing unit.
Here's a picture of the Lil' Critter train over the Christmas Tree.

A B&O Sierra Observation car has been added to the overhead roster courtesy of my wife and children. There are now three Sierra cars running on the overhead line. I still am planning on adding a B&O combine car when one can be located.
An Aristocraft track cleaning caboose was added to the WGR as an early birthday present. I will be used by all divisions of the WGR as necessary to maintain the tracks.
I received a B&O Sierra Combine for Christmas. I now have four Sierra Passenger cars running on the overhead line.
A Chessie covered gondola was purchased today on ebay. This one had two scratch-built coil covers included that were nearly complete. I painted them and applied the dry trasfers.
I received a CSX Dash-9 locomotive for Christmas.
A new division of the WGR was created today. The Alumni Division came into being. I purchased a custom painted Rogers 2-4-2 starter set on ebay. The engine, tender, 20' gondola, and Bobber caboose had been painted in University of Michigan colors. Being an alumni it was a perfect fit for the railway.

I purchased a Western Maryland/Chessie covered hopper from ebay. This car was a special run for Star Hobby in a set of four. I was glad to be able to get a single one instead of having to buy the whole set.
I purchased a lot of four Aristocraft gondolas from an online auction. There were two C&O covered gondolas, a B&O gondola, and a Chessie covered gondola. This worked out as a really good buy. I didn't have the B&O gondola and I liked this one since the current ones made by Aristocraft are black and this one is blue. I already had a Chessie covered gonola, but the one I have I have coil covers for. This one I will leave as a covered gonola. The C&O gondolas I will sell since I already have one of them. As a bonus, I didn't have a box for the Chessie gondola with the coil covers so I will keep the box for one of the C&O gondolas when I sell them.
I purchased a second Christmans Sierra Coach for under the Christmas tree.
I received a USA Trains Christmas ore car for under the overhead line in the office.
I received a USA Trains Chessie searchlight car, from my family for my birthday this year.
I purchased an Aristocraft B&O 100 ton hopper, car off of ebay. As a bonus it already has metal wheels.
I purchased an Aristocraft Hershey Lil' Critter set at a consignment shop. The set included a Lil' Critter diesel engine, 20' gondola, and a bobber caboose. As a bonus the gondola and bobber caboose have metal wheels.
I purchased Aristocraft Hershey 20' tank car today to add to the Hershey Lil' Critter train.
