Coal Drag on the WCNG

Ok friends, in October we began hauling coal trains in earnest!  Lets follow a train over the line to see the action!

No 7 tops off her tank....

...while No6 shuffles around the yard.

Heres she's got some loads, brought down yesterday evening.

Shoving the loads up to the loadout

With the laods dumped, No6 assembles a train.

No7 backs into the yard...

And brings the coal drag out onto the line.

After passing Shady Poplar

Caboose and hoppers left on the main due to limited siding capacity.

Bringing in the balance of the train.

No7 simmers on the tail track

Making the runaround

Getting ready to spot cars for loading

After getting the stragglers, spotting cars for loading

Haveing spotted a cut, backing out for more

Another cut of loads on the setout track

Got most of the train loaded, now for those last two.

Running 'round the cabin!

Grabbing the caboose to build the loaded train

Spotting the cabin

Bringing out the first cut of loads

Nabbing the 2nd cut

Leaning into a load

The sun comes out, as we load the last 2 hoppers

No7 waits for the brakemen to make the last hook

The cabin scampers out of the yard

The train stops at Shady Junction to set brakes

Around Summit Curve and tipping over the grade

Safteis pop as the train passes Midway Cut

Slowing to a stop at the Yard Limits

No6 waits in the hole, as the drag comes into town

No7 heads for the water tank, to get ready for another run
