What does a steam engine have in common with a woman?  Well they both have a tender behind of course!  In this episode we're gonna look at the modifications I made to the standard Bachmann tender to bring it up to 7/8 scale standards and looks!  To the left is the stock tender, Figure 25 looks so innocent, little does it know whats getting ready to happen to it!One of the main problems with the  tender as is, is its a little too narrow, so off comes the shell, and to the bandsaw we go!   Sliced her right down the middle.  Now to splice a half inch into her center to get her to look right

After the splice is made with styrene plates, a little Squadron green putty takes care of making it nice and neat.   I sanded off the rivet detail that was molded into the tender and prepared for the new ones by applying a .001 styrene side and ends.  The markings for inserting the new rivetheads are apparent.  These are made from sequin pins and each one requires that a hole be drilled and it be inserted individually
