Our Family

Hello, I am Bill Johnson

In a real sense this web site is about the people I love, and my experiences with trains of all sizes throuugh out my lifetime.

In the next frame, I would like to introduce my wife and daughter.  We were on a short vacation to Niagara Falls, Ontario, which is only about sixty miles from where we live.  Our niece, Carla was also along with us on this trip.

The final frame on this page is about what I believe and hold to be the foundational truths of my life.

This is a picture of my wife, Sharon, our daughter, Shari and our niece, Carla. We are aboard one of the "Maid of the Mist" sight seeing boats at Niagara Falls. In the background is the American falls and another "Maid of the Mist" boat. I was taking the picture.

Three Questions That Demand a Decision

I believe that there are at least three prime questions that a person must decide upon. The decisions that a person makes about these questions defines him or her as a person, and all of the other decisions a person makes hang on the outcome of these three decisions.

What will I do about
Jesus Christ?
What will be my
life's work?
Who will I marry?
What does the Bible say?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV

Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.
Proverbs 16:3 KJV

Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favor of the Lord.
Proverbs 18:22 KJV

My Decisions

I made my decision for Jesus Christ while I was a pre-teen. Since I have invited Jesus into my life he has directed the other major decisions of my life.
His hand has been evident in that he has blocked my most faulty decisions and has opened the way to better ones.

Would you like to know Jesus for yourself and experience his love and guidance in your life?
How To Discover The Greatest Love Worth Finding is a link that outlines God's plan of salvation and is provided by a ministry that I have come to admire and respect.

Ever since I received my first American Flyer electric train set when I was four years old, I have had an interest in electrical things.
I had wired an unfinished attic by the time I had reached mid teen age. When finished, the area became my bedroom.
After I graduated from high school, I entered the United States Air Force and was trained to be an Airborne Electronics Navigation Technician. Here I received a good basic electronics education and I built my career upon it.
My career has been roughly divided equally between being a Technician in engineering, quality control or maintenance functions. At the end of September 2007 I retired from the US Postal service in the latter capacity.

I prayed about this decision as a young adult probably more than any other decision. I prayed for the Lord's blessing on the one who was to be my wife even before I knew who she was. The main thing that was important to me was that we would have a common faith in Jesus Christ.
I really didn't have any ideal in mind as far as her physical appearance. This aspect of life changes with time.
I believe that because we started our home in Jesus Christ, we have been blessed even through the trials and tests we have gone through. In May 2011, we celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary.
