John Casey Worked for Railroad Half a Century

John F. Casey, 72, a retired railroad man, died Tuesday morning in Margaretville hospital following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning in the Sacred Heart church at Arkville. Rev. Walter Burns officiated. Burial was in the family plot at St. Mary's cemetery in Kingston.

Mr. Casey is survived by a son, Dermuid Casey of Arkville, a daughter, Mrs. Helen Hamilton of Stamford, Conn., and two grand children. Also surviving are a brother, William Casey, of Schenectady and three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Nolan, Mrs. Margaret Hayes, and Miss Noreen Casey of Arkville.

Born Nov. 13, 1880, at Bloomville, Mr. Casey was the son of the late Jerry and Anna Redican Casey. He was the husband of the late Anne O'Leary Casey.

Mr. Casey was a brakeman with the New York Central and Ulster and Delaware Railroads for nearly 50 years. He retired several years ago.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and of the Sacred Heart Catholic church at Arkville.
