CGW TRAILER FLEET
Keeps Pace with Fast-Moving TOFC
A pioneer in piggyback operation since 1938, the CGW added another page to it's history in January when the first units of an initial fleet of 100 refrigerated trailers were put into service among the packing plants on the Great Western. Equipped with diesel refrigeration, sliding tandems, meat rails, and the latest technical advances in trailer construction, the CGWZ units are the finest obtainable. The Z indicates on passing reports wheel lists, etc. that the unit is a trailer and identifies it as such from a box, hopper, etc. Aluminum siding with large black lettering, the trailer is easily identified at night, too, for the 36" reflectorized herald reflects the ownership.
