The three-decker is an unusual style of dwelling.  Borrowed by Canadians from the French style of New Orleans, it is found mostly in a belt running from Rhode Island and Eastern Connecticut, through Central Massachusetts and into Southern New Hampshire.  At one time the windows at left were open porches, often covered to reduce maintenance.  Grosvenordale, Connecticut, 2001.
