Robert Townley Collection

Here is a train of the Northern Electric, predecessor to the Sacramento Northern, at Chico, made up of two lovely arch-roof interurban cars.

Entrance to Oak Park, Sacramento.

Two-car interurban train of the Central California Traction Co., crossing the Mokelumne River in Stockton.

An interurban car passing the Oil Exchange Building, Bakersfield.

Several cars of central valley traction lines, particularly the Sacramento Northern, can be found (and ridden) at the Western Railway Museum in Rio Vista Junction, CA.
