One of the highlights of Railfair was the bringing together of the three operating Northerns of the West. Southern Pacific 4449 and Santa Fe 3751 greet Union Pacific 844.

Classic diesels also came to Railfair. Oakland Terminal's privately-owned Southern Pacific GP9 5623 and Western Pacific GP20 2001 from the Feather River Rail Society were two of the visitors.

Southern Pacific 5623 rides the turntable at the California State Railroad Museum. The GP9 accompanied SP 4-6-2 2467 to Railfair from Oakland.

The Buckingham Lining Bar Gang, which usually tours railroad events through the South, was also in California, demonstrating how track was laid and maintained manually. The group takes a quick break in the hot California sun.

Looking forward from the cab of the Camden & Amboy 4-2-0 at Railfair we see a lot of Bull - John Bull that is. The replica made the trip to Railfair from the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania at Strasburg.
