A stack train cruises west past the weather station at Camp Navajo, located roughly halfway between Flagstaff and Williams, Arizona (10/3/98).

BNSF 4756 has yet to receive all its markings, but first light finds it leading an eastbound through Williams Junction, Arizona (10/3/98).

The Crookton Cut-Off winds its way through the mountains between Williams and Seligman, Arizona. Near Williams it hides in the hills, but from Crookton west to Seligman it runs along old Route 66. Just outside Williams we find "goat boat" Dash 9-44CW 963 leading an eastbound (10/3/98).

Route 66 and the Santa Fe leave I-40 and wind north on a big bow between Seligman and Kingman. As the light fades, an eastbound works its way past the cattle pens of Peach Springs, Arizona (9/30/98).
