History of The Train Team
I founded The Train Team on July 29, 1996 when I was ten.
That night my cousin, Nolan Reiten, and I decided to have our own club. We called it The Train Team. That very night we created the first Train Team newsletter – which was at that time called Trains. The first newsletter was very informal, written out by hand, filled the front side of a piece of binder paper and had seven subscribers (all family).
By the second issue, the newsletter included more content and true columns. The November 1996 issue of TRAINS was the first to be double-sided. The March/April 1997 issue of TRAINS introduced a new look. In July 1997, the Train Team celebrated it’s 1st year anniversary with and introduced the first issue of TRAINS produced on a computer.
The September/October 1997 issue of TRAINS introduced the column ‘A Little History’.
The Train Team newsletter is now called Inside Track and is published bi-monthly.
In the year 2000 The Train Team created its email mailing list , called Link-a-Week, which comes out bi-weekly and it’s website through TrainWeb.com.
The Train Team will be forever dedicated to promoting the love of trains to all ages.
