Another of
Paul DeRouen's masterpieces built for and proudly owned by Co-Webmaster Tom
Carter, this model of CCT 70 started life as a Life-Like Proto 2000 GP7 and was
reworked with scratchbuilt drip gutters on the cab roof, MU hoses, sand and
brake lines, and other assorted detail parts to represent CCT 70 as she appeared
during its debut on the CCT on February 10, 1976. Paul also added a working
strobe light, micro bulb headlights and a Digitrax DCC decoder set up to
recognize the long hood as being the forward, or "A" end, just like on
the prototype. Many hours were spent reliving childhood memories on the
Sacramento Modular Railroaders HO layout with the new model in November of 2001,
where these photographs were taken upon delivery of this beautiful model. Thanks
again Paul!
This model of CCT 70 is an Atlas N Scale model custom built
for a gentleman in Arizona. It was purchased along with an N Scale model of CCT
60 and CCT 24. This model has been fitted with a Digitrax DZ163 DCC Decoder. Model is now owned by David Epling
