The London and Lake Erie Railway & Transportation Company

For many years, the London & Port Stanley Railway carried people and freight from the harbour at Port Stanley to the city of London, Ontario. What people may not know is that London was once home to two electric railway companies. The South Western Traction Company, later the London & Lake Erie Railway, began in 1902 and opened in 1906, 9 years before the older L&PS was electrified. The London & Lake Erie had a short life of only 16 years, but in spite of this, it had a very significant impact. There's alot of conflicting information out there in regards to this early interurban line, and I hope to clarify some of them with this site.
