The Sunset Limited stops at this location on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday both east and west bound. The Station is located about six miles north of Palm Springs Airport, just off Interstate 10 at Indian Avenue.

Eastbound, the Sunset is relatively reliable, but Westbound it is not, due to the inability of the Union Pacific to deliver trains into California on anything like the advertised schedule. To see when the train will arrive, you must call 1-800-USA-RAIL and ask.

There is limited parking (free), but there is no agent, no checked baggage or any other services. It has no ticket machine, so you should get your tickets from a travel agent or from Amtrak. You can call them at 1-800-USA-RAIL, or visit their website <http://tickets.amtrak.com>

Local transit (Sunline Bus) does not serve this location. Your webmaster (who lives in the area) has never seen a taxi there. If you are detraining at Palm Springs, make arrangements to be picked up.

Greyhound Bus Lines has announced plans to begin stopping its "Crucero" bus company at the Palm Spring North Amtrak Station, but details are sketchy at this date. (January 29, 2009)
