Los Angeles Union Station is located in the center of Los Angeles, only minutes from City Hall, China Town, Little Tokyo, and the historic center of the city -- Olvera Street.
Originally built in the 1930 to consolidate ALL passenger terminals into a single location, Union Station stands now at the core of public transit development in Los Angeles. Not only Amtrak long distance Coast Starlight, Southwest Chief, and Sunset Limited, but also corridor Amtrak services Pacific Surfliner and San Joaquin operate from and through Union Station. Los Angeles' commuter rail (Metrolink) runs scores of trains weekdays during commute hours to Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Los Angeles subways also serve Union Station with fast frequent subway trains to Long Beach, the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles International Airport, and Pasadena and Sierra Madre. Many local and regional bus transit operaters have schedules at Union Station. |
