The Beaumont Texas Amtrak station building has been torn down. The concrete slab that was the building floor is all that remains to mark where the Sunset Limited stops for passengers. In 2006, approximately 1000 persons boarded and deboarded the Sunset (which only stops three times a week) in Beaumont. Beaumont is home of the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, and LaMar University.
