Pecos Valley Southern Railway
|
Headquartered in the dusty west Texas town of Pecos, the Pecos Valley Southern operates a
29 mile line from a connection with Union Pacific's Toyah Subdivision at Pecos, south to
Saragosa. Traffic consists mainly of sand, gravel, and other minerals.
I have visited the Pecos Valley Southern in 1995, 2002, and 2004. Each time, locomotives
on hand in Pecos have included EMD SW900M # 9, and dormant GE
70-tonners #s 7 and 8.
