In May of 1992, two "Kodachrome" locomotives in the SP-SF merger scheme lead an eastbound train approaching Abo
Canyon at Sais, New Mexico. This wasn't the best shot I got that day at Abo Canyon, but it's easily the most memorable --
it was the only good shot I ever got of more than one "Kodachrome" unit on the head end of a train. Within
a year, the Santa Fe had repainted most of these locomotives back to blue and yellow, so catching a matched pair of
them at Abo was definitely an example of good (and lucky) timing.
