Texas Panhandle Trains -- BNSF Dalhart Subdivision

coal load at Dalhart

Snow from a recent winter storm melts in the sun as BNSF SD70MAC 9803 leads eastbound C ATMAMH through Dalhart, Texas on the BNSF Dalhart Subdivision on January 18, 2001. The train is about to cross the UP interlocking at Dalhart. This would be an unusual move today, since BNSF instituted directional running on its Dalhart and Boise City Subdivisions in September 2003. North- / west-bound trains operate on the Dalhart Subdivision, while south- / east-bound trains use the Boise City Sub.
