Texas Railroad Sesquicentennial: D-FW area

Fort Worth & Western 2248 heads east toward Grapevine with the Tarantula passenger train returning from the Fort Worth Stockyards on September 7, 2003.

Cooke Locomotive Works of Paterson, NJ constructed this locomotive in 1896 for the Southern Pacific. It is currently the only operating steam locomotive in Texas that was built during the 19th Century.
