Jeeps on Flat Car

Downs Model Railroad was contracted by SJSG to produce the flat car for
this project. In Fact, these flat cars are among the last products produced by Russ
Downs before he sold the company to Manheim Machine and Tool Co, Inc. SJSG club
members painted and decaled the 1/64 jeeps. The timbers are cut but not fastened
to the car allowing the buyer some discretion on mounting. The flat cars are
available in four numbers with Hi-Rail trucks and couplers only. (SORRY - THE
CAR IS SOLD OUT. The selling price was $39.00)
Rails (or Tender) on Flat Car

Using a second run of the Downs Model Railroad flat car in two
new road numbers, the SJSG has created two additional loads. The first was
inspired from a trip to Steamtown USA, where a tender without its trucks was
sitting on a siding waiting for a trip to the machine shop for rebuilding. The
tenders in this project are original NEW American Flyer parts.
The second load is made from new Gargraves track cut to length.
(SORRY, THE CAR IS SOLD OUT. The selling price was $39.00)
Several of the previous SJSG
club projects have become desirable products. If you're interested in
some old club history - take a look at the Valley Forge Convention car, and
others!
