We've made the corners by connecting the 3x4' sections across the ends of the
sides. This is one spot the track will cross the joint at an angle. We plan to
flatten the curve out on each side of the joint to reduce any alignment
problems. We will not be using bridge rails. We will fasten the sections
together (using alignment pins) then securely fasten down the track. Afterwards,
we will cut the rail using a thin razor saw. Since the sections will be
transported in a protective rack, we don't expect any problems with the track
rails getting bumped.
From the closest edge in the picture of the lower level, the first track will be a short
display siding which will be used for future expansion. The next two tracks will
be the inner and outer main lines, the rear-most track will be original Flyer
track used as a display track for the operating accessories. It will end just
inside the tunnel.
The closest track on the upper level will be the point-to-point track and the
next track in will be a run-around siding for DCC operations (a change made
since the mock-up was built.) The inner-most track will be the upper loop.
