Before you submit your request for free web hosting at TrainWeb, please visit the member FAQ section. This section includes quick answers to some of the more common questions we receive from our members.

NOTE :
The number one requirement of being hosted at TrainWeb.org is that your website must be related to rail. If you have a few web pages at your website that are not directly related to rail, that does not give us a problem. The second requirement is that your site must be non-commercial. That is, the purpose of your website can not be to sell products or services for a profit. Membership in affilliate programs like Amazon.com is not a problem. Third, your website must not be just a doorway to another website that you have hosted elsewhere, nor can it be used as a mirror or a backup of a website you have hosted elsewhere.

To sign up for a new account : Just email us with the following details about your proposed website:

1. Site Name :
   (15 characters maximum, all lowercase, no special characters, no spaces, and must not start with a digit.)
   The Site Name will be appended at the end of www.trainweb.org/ to form your web address. For example, if your requested Site Name is myrail, your web address will be www.trainweb.org/myrail.
   Check Members A-Z Index to make sure that your desired Site Name is still available.
2. Site Title :
   (50 characters maximum: the shorter, the better!)
3. Site Description :
   (80 characters maximum, not 80 words!)
4. Site Category :
   Visit the members directory to select a category.
5. Your Name :
   Provide us with your full name to be used as the authorized point of contact.
6. Your Email Address :
   Provide us with just one e-mail address to be used as the authorized point of contact.

Please allow us 5 to 7 days to create your web account and to e-mail the access codes and upload instructions to you. Sometimes we are able to respond more promptly, but please wait 7 days before inquiring about the access codes for your new website. Thank you!
