In 28th September 2003, an old loco have
just celebrated its 50th anniversary.
This loco is the first diesel loco to be
operated by Indonesian State Railway. Its introduction was somewhat radical,
at that time, because the railway operation in Indonesia in early 1950s was
mainly dominated by aging, Dutch-colonial era, steam locomotives.
However this loco did really pass the test
with flying colours. It really satisfied the Indonesia State Railway's top
brass, and they eventually decided to buy more diesel locos types, which eventually
led to steam's demise from Indonesian mainline in 1980s.
To commemorate the existence of this nearly
extinct loco, a party was set up at Cirebon Station, where it was attended
by some of Indonesia State Railway officials and railfans from Friends
of CC200.
It is hoped that his loco would see some
more years in operation for tourism purpose, as the CC200 loco is no longer
listed in Indonesia State Railway's inventory.
Err...which mean that this celebration
is to commemorate its existence, rather than its length of service, right?

Morning, 28th September 2003.
Everything have been set up for the
party. And to create the 'classic' atmosphere, two D301 diesel shunters
had also been repainted to the old yellow and green livery.

A side view of CC20015.
There is an English translation for
the black letters. Whereas the red letters translated as: 'We dedicate
Ourselves to Our Nation'. Sounds patriotic, isn't it?
The logo on the left is the new Indonesia
State Railway's logo, whereas the logo on right is the logo of the railfans
group that had worked in the past 12 moths to save the loco from the scrapman.

The CC200 loco is being inspected by
the railfans group.
An EMD BB201 loco is visible in the
background.

CC20015 is seen, with two of its older
siblings: CC20008 and CC20009.
Both of those locomotives had to be
cannibalized to keep CC20015 in mint condition, as the spare parts (especially
for the engine) are scarce.

out of Cirebon shed, after the opening ceremony finished.

CC200 is being parked at line number
5. Whereas A CC203 is crossing Cirebon station while working on parcel
freight train.
The physical gap in this photo seemed
to illustrate the age gap between them. It's been 50 years that General
Electric locomotive dominated the Javanese diesel railway scene. And throughout
those years, GE locomotives had made several milestones:
CC200 is the first diesel loco in Indonesia,
whereas CC203 is the first diesel loco that able to travel at 120 Km/hours
at regular service.

This photo illustrate three generations
of Indonesia State Railway livery, complete with its irony.
The D301 is adorned in the first version
of ISR livery, first introduced on CC200 locomotive. Ironically, the CC200s
on the right is wearing the second version of ISR livery, first introduced
in early 1990s on last batch of CC201 loco.(The CC201 loco in this picture
came from last production batch!!!).
Whereas the CC201 is wearing the latest
version of ISR livery, which was first introduced on CC203 locomotive
in 1995 as a symbol of (quite) fast and efficient Indonesian State Railway.
