The first diesel locomotive in Australia, it is actually the Australianized version of the famed EMD F7 passenger locomotive.
Perhaps, the most obvious difference is that the loco is narrower and less taller than their American counterpart, which enabling the loco to have six axle, and to fit with Australia's clearance size.
There's also some difference in radiator system, which is said to be better than their American conterpart.
But generally, it looks close to EMD F7 loco.
