Unlike the traditional short CN ore gondolas, this is a fairly recent
1990 rebuilt. Being 36' long, it likely was a short gondola before, especially
taking into account the clearly added sides. The only other piece of rolling
stock that I've seen resembling this kind of conversion, is CP adding sides
to their gondolas, thus remaking them into woodchip
cars. The added safety stripes show that CN is interested in keeping these
car, which makes sense since it is a fairly recent re-build.
