Milwaukee Road Depot
Here are a couple of photos of the Milwaukee Road depot at Sun Prairie,
Wisconsin which burned to the ground on May 3, 2000. Sun Prairie is located
just east of Madison on the branch to Watertown, WI.
The depot was built in 1914 and was used by the Milwaukee Road until being
closed as an agency in the late 1970's. Since then it had sat vacant and
had fallen into severe disrepair.
Rail service past this location was provided by CP Rail until 1997 at which
time the track was leased to the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad.
