The C&NW tower, at Clyman Junction, WI., was where the Chicago - Twin Cities main crossed the north-south
line that ran from Janesville to Fon du Lac. At the time these photos were
taken in 1982 the branch line had already been partially abandoned and the
crossing itself, which was adjacent to the tower, had already been removed.
The second photo looks east and shows the old concrete coaling tower still in
place over the main tracks.
Clyman is still somewhat of a junction today since this is where trains diverge from the main line and head south over the branch to Jefferson
Junction where a large malt plant is located.
