The Rio Grande was known for their extensive narrow gauge system. In a time of Amtrak silver, the Rio Grande Zephyr soldiered on behind yellow F units until the mid 1980's. The Rio Grande itself became a fallen flag after merging with the Southern Pacific, which is now part of the mighty Union Pacific. I will eventually feature both narrow gauge and Standard gauge here.
