In conjunction with the Niwot Business Association, the BCRHS is sponsoring a caboose display in Niwot.  The BCRHS's former Chicago, Burlington & Quincy caboose #14649 was moved to Niwot in August 2003 and is displayed alongside the Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks in downtown Niwot.  CB&Q 14649 was built in May 1907 at the railroad's Plattesmouth Nebraska shops.  The CB&Q used wood cabooses like 14649 into the mid 1960's.  The caboose donated by the Colorado Railroad Museum, which acquired it in 1969, in 2002.
