UP 908372, D&RGW AX3219 is a track panel car. Originally built
in 1944 as a flatcar, it was converted to it present configuration in 1967
with the addition of part of a boxcar body on the rear of the car.
AX3219 was used to carry prebuilt panels of track as well as tools and was
assigned to the Salt Lake CIty Utah wreck train. The track panels
were used to build temporary track at wreck sites to aid in the cleanup
process. AX3219 was donated in 2001 by Daniel Quiat. |
