Railfan Pictures of the Week - 8/30/2026
April 22 2026 In the lead up to the 250th birthday of the country, a number of railroads have given patriotic paint jobs to some of their locomotives. East Penn Railroad joined the club with GP10 ESPN 1776, which came up on CSX L042 heading for Quakertown PA. The engine started out as PRR 7068, then PC and CR 7557, and then PRL 2202 before becoming ESPN 1700.
CSX L042 dropped it off on the leased track in Hatfield waiting for Pennsylvania Northeastern Railroad to take it the final 10 miles.
PN L160 with SD40-2 PN 5577 grabbed it that morning and took it to Telford for interchange with ESPN.
PN L160 dropped 1776 and a lumber car between County Line Road and Washington Street ...
for GP9RM CLNA 4621, the only ESPN power in Quakertown, to pick up and take it north.
