Railfan Pictures of the Week - 11/16/2025
February 14 2025 was the day of the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl parade and SEPTA ran a special schedule with service only inbound in the morning and outbound in the afternoon. So I took a trip down to Melrose Park to see if there was anything interesting, and there was not. Just the usual normal sized Silverliner IV trains like these, in sun and shadow, and they all seemed to be running late.

While listening to the scanner, I heard CSX L042 call SEPTA 3 for a trip up the Stony Creek Branch, so I decided to relocate to Lansdale where the local police had installed barriers and traffic cones to direct the hoards of parade goers that were expected.

CSX L042 arrived not long after I did.

Meanwhile, the massive hoards expected did not, and the two trains out of Lansdale easily handled the dozens of waiting passengers.

This last shot of the Bethlehem Branch looking north from Cannon Avenue shows the result of PN's tree clearing as L042's power returns to the yard.
