March 18 2023 Chains were attached to the new rail to anchor them as the train crept forward. |
SEPTA had warned that due to the slow progress of the train, it would foul a number of grade crossings in the area, the first of which would be County Line Road. |
Add to that, waiting at County Line Road was a fuel truck for the engines, lest they run out in the middle of blocking traffic. |
On the nearby Philadelphia Macaroni Company siding, private maintenance of way personnel were taking the opportunity to rehab the rails. This is the only customer on the branch serviced by Pennsylvania Northeastern Railroad's overnight local W230 and is often called the Spaghetti Siding. |
