Railfan Pictures of the Week - 10/09/2022 |
After decades of revenue service and the last four years on the wash trains, SEPTA's AEM-7's and lone ALP-44 were finally retired and sold for scrap. The winning bidder was located in Morrisville PA, so on May 14 2022, a gray and gloomy day befitting the occasion, SEPTA Extra 52 took the motors on their last trip from Overbrook to oblivion. |
Power for the move was SW1200 SPAX 52 and BL15 SPAX 51. |

The extra ran up to Morris Interlocking where it shoved back onto the lead to CSAO's Morrisville Yard. |
The SEPTA diesels cut away and headed back home, leaving the electrics for CSAO to pick up later in the day. |
