Railfan Pictures of the Week - 1/16/2022 |
SEPTA and local first responder units coordinate for disaster drills regularly, and last May 16 it was Lansdale's turn to host. For the simulated accident, SEPTA positioned Silverliner IV married pair 344-345 just south of Claire crossing in Lansdale. |
Emergency equipment was stationed on both sides of the cars. |
Part of the rescue operation required popping out a few emergency windows on 344. |
"Victims" were stretchered from the scene to triage areas. |
On the station side, a fire-rescue vehicle from Towamencin was used as a platform for observers. |
A number of local fire companies and police departments used the parking lot as a rally point/staging area. |
After the drill, SEPTA personnel popped the windows back in and returned the cars to the MU yard. |
