Railfan Pictures of the Week - 10/03/2021

What was once the Pennsylvania Railroad's two track Schuylkill Valley Division at Spring Mill in Conshohocken PA was by July 1991 reduced to a single customer siding serviced by a local out of the former Reading Company's Abrams Yard across the river.
This day's power is a pair of GP15-1's, CR 1639 and 1634.
Decades earlier the PRR and the RDG competed for business side by side along the line from Conshohocken to Norristown. The Reading side is used by SEPTA for commuter service while the PRR tracks on this side of the river were mostly abandoned when service was cut beyond Cynwyd in 1986.
Just north of Spring Mill, the Pennsylvania and the Reading shared catenary supports. These are original PRR rails.
