SEPTA Main Line and Doylestown Branch North Wales, Colmar, Doylestown and Lansdale Stations October 20 2020

With the ongoing pandemic and the associated drop in service, there was some question whether or not SEPTA would be running their wash trains this year, and also whether they would be electric powered as they have been the past two years. The answers came last week and both were yes. The first week they were running one crew per night, alternating Wash1 and Wash2. The previous night, Wash2 had covered the Chestnut Hill East, the Norristown and the Media Elwyn Lines, so on Tuesday Wash1 worked West Trenton and then headed to Doylestown. After being held at Gwynedd for a southbound revenue run, the dispatcher sent them up Track 1 to Lansdale so it could run the northbound revenue on Track 2. Here SPAX 606, a former NJT Comet I cab car, leads Wash1 through North Wales.
Trailing power was AEM-7 SPAX 2304, which with sisters 2301 and 2307, are the last operating AEM-7's.
The train usually operates at a speed conducive to chasing, but they were making good time here at Colmar.
The train paused at the station at Doylestown ...
before returning south, here on Track 2 between Land and Dale at Lansdale.
