Railfan Pictures of the Week - 1/26/2020 |
SEPTA Route 15 Richmond Street Philadelphia PA January 25 2020 |
Since SEPTA bustituted all the PCC II's on what was ostensibly their last day before their reported minimum year long rest and rehabilitation, time to take pictures of the tracks and wires that may or may not see another PCC II in the future. Looking north from Beach Street, the orange cones on the southbound track have been there for at least 5 years, so no real change here. |
At Lehigh, the same, with the wires extending to almost Cambria Street. |
North of Cambria Street, Richmond Street is closed to Allegheny Avenue. |
At Ann Street, they are building the new southbound section of I-95, so no wires yet. |
North of Ann Street, at least the tracks are back. |
The tracks at the Westmoreland Loop are now encased in concrete, and since it will be probably be at least a year or two before the trolleys return, there is no hurry with the wires. How time flies, it seems like the PCC II debut in 2005 was just yesterday. |
