Railfan Pictures of the Week - 12/15/2019
The fourth in a series regarding the changes around the Lansdale Cluster.
Pennsylvania Northeastern Railroad Bethlehem Branch and Lansdale Yard Lansdale PA November 22 and 26 and December 4 2019
November 22 2019 For the first time, PN takes all three of its six axle units for a run up the Bethlehem Branch.
The lineup: SD40-2W PN 5342, SD60 PN 8701 and C39-8 PN 8212.
Alas, it did not last long as three days later, PN 8701 was on the bench again. From the looks of the front plow, it would appear to have been a trailing unit on a W230 run that followed the gel train.
PN 8212 and 5342 were back to covering the runs, returning from Telford and pictured here approaching Central at Souderton ...
and again at Orvilla in Hatfield.
By December 4 2019, PN 8701 was not even in Lansdale and now PN 8212 was parked in the yard ...
while PN 5342 handled the chores all by itself.
