SEPTA Main Line and Pennsylvania Northeastern Stony Creek Branch Lansdale and West Point PA August 24 2019

As part of Lansdale Founder's Day celebrations, the Pennsylvania Northeastern ran excursions from Lansdale to West Point PA on the Stony Creek Branch. The trains departed the station off the Bethlehem Industrial and ran down to CP Dale to the Stony Creek Branch.
Leading south was GP9M PN 7010, trailing SD40-2W PN 5342. The construction fencing to the right is for the new trail connecting Lansdale Station and Stony Creek Park and will feature a pedestrian grade crossing over the branch, similar in design to those at Bethayres.
The ten mile an hour jaunt crossing Sumneytown Pike in Upper Gwynedd Township. This bridge replaced the original bridge back in 2010.
You can clearly see the demarcation between the Pennsylvania Northeastern half of the Stony Creek Branch and the NS half.
The return trip passing the Lansdale Municipal Building.
Arriving at the station.
A West Point-bound train approaches the only wayside signal left along the line.
Passenger trains are rare on the Stony Creek Branch, with the most recent a Stony Creek Ramble in 1993, although the last SEPTA train was a ferry move of Silverliners stranded in Lansdale by a washout in Fort Washington PA back in 2001.
