Railfan Pictures of the Week - 08/04/2019 |
NS Morrisville, SEPTA West Trenton and CSX Trenton Lines Woodbourne PA July 18 2019 |
Yes, Virginia, CSX still runs between Woodbourne and Lansdale. In fact, C746 usually completes three round trips a week using CSX, SEPTA and NS rails. Here a Lansdale to Woodbourne run approaches CP West Lang on the NS Morrisville Line. |
C746 stopped at CP Wood on the Wood Connecting Track to wait for a window on both the SEPTA and CSX sides. Having just gotten the light, the train's head end is on SEPTA and the hind end still on NS, and ahead is the open switch to CSX. |
Now on CSX approaching CP TL, the conductor is about to step off to wait for the train to clear TL so he can climb aboard the last car for the shove to Woodbourne Yard. |
As soon as C746 cleared TL, SEPTA resumed its regularly scheduled operations, namely Train 6321. C746, pictured in the distance, has just started the shove. |
A few minutes later, the gates are down and they are clear into the yard. |
Waiting in Woodbourne Yard was an army of MOW equipment waiting to take the Trenton Line out of service for most of the morning. To be continued ... |
