Railfan Pictures of the Week - 02/17/2019 |
CSX Trenton Line CP Berry Philadelphia PA February 7 2019 |
The oil keeps flowing on CSX's Trenton Line, usually featuring BNSF power as with K144 pictured here. |
They also usually like to keep the loaded oil trains moving, but this day it had to pause to wait for Q300 to pass. |
The front portion of Q300 consists of mixed freight, but the lion's share of the cars are empty trash containers destined for North Jersey. |
An interesting note is that the Q300/Q301 and the oil/ethanol trains have not yet been DPU'ed like Q409/Q410 and Q031/Q032. |
These days the closest thing we have to a dedicated car used to denote the end of a train are the covered hoppers that are used as designated buffer cars on the oil trains. They are even stenciled "BUFFER SERVICE ONLY" |
Of course the train still gets an EOT. |
