Railfan Pictures of the Week - 11/25/2018 |
SEPTA Main and Doylestown Lines North Wales and Lansdale Stations North Wales and Lansdale PA October and November 2018 |
Starting their second act after retiring from revenue service, the SEPTA motors began working on regular runs of SEPTA's wash trains on October 28. After visiting the West Trenton and Warminster Lines, Wash 1 came north with cab car SPAX 606 leading and AEM-7 2307 trailing at North Wales. |
The same train returned the next night. There are not many locations that favor nighttime photography along the line, one of the best is at CP Land on the trip up to Doylestown where the train passes the brightly lit MU yard. |
A change of plan after the first couple runs as they decided that a pair of electrics was better. They added AEM-7 SPAX 2306 on the north end ... |
while keeping AEM-7 SPAX 2307 on the south end. |
The next week they continued to mix it up, sending ALP-44 SPAX 2308 north ... |
as well as AEM-7 SPAX 2301. |
AEM-7 SPAX 2306 spent all of its time on the north end of the consists, here paused at Land waiting for Train 591 to come south. |
The rumored third act of SEPTA's electrics should be even more interesting, if uneventful. Stay tuned. |
