Railfan Pictures of the Week - 11/04/2018 |
CSX Trenton Line and SEPTA West Trenton Line Woodbourne and Neshaminy Falls PA October 16 2018 |
SEPTA's last two Sprinters are finally on the property as of October 16 2018. SEPTA sent Genset SPAX 70 up to CSX Woodbourne Yard to pick them up. Here they are shoving ACS-64's SPAX 914 and 915 out of the yard at CP Woodbourne. |
After pausing at CP TL, they got the ok down to the connection with SEPTA at CP Wood. |
The extra passed the wire train just east of Neshaminy Falls and continued down to Wayne Electric. |
This completes SEPTA's order of 15 ACS-64's. More than half of the new motors are now in service, and all the AEM-7's and the lone ALP-44 have been retired from revenue service. Unfortunately the delivery of the complementary 45 multi-level coaches from CRRC that were due to start arriving in October 2019 has been pushed back almost a year. SEPTA currently has 35 coaches and 10 cab cars which are used for three trains on the Paoli/Thorndale Line, two on the West Trenton Line and one on the Wilmington Line, which means that with normal maintenance and inspection issues sidelining some cars as expected, there will probably not be any new push-pull assignments until 2021. |
