Railfan Pictures of the Week - 10/28/2018 |
Amtrak Northeast Corridor Cornwells Heights, Eddington and Torresdale Stations Bensalem and Philadelphia PA October 1 2018 |
During the first nine days of October, Amtrak replaced a critical switch leading to 30th Street Station, and as a result, access was reduced to one track for all SEPTA and Amtrak trains into and out of the station (thank god NJT had previously suspended its Atlantic City Line trains back around Labor Day, but that is another story). Due to this capacity restriction, SEPTA temporarily eliminated a pair of Trenton Line trains during the morning and evening rush hours, supplementing two of the remaining trains by replacing them with 8 car push-pulls powered by ACS-64 SEPTA Sprinters, the first use of the new engines in revenue service on the Trenton Line. Normal service resumed on October 10 2018. October 1 2018 ACS-64 SPAX 904 Cornwells Heights Station |
